Good to see the series back!

It's good to see that, once again, this non-rule-breaking flash series has been reinstated. I've already seen this once before it was incorrectly flagged, so this was a trip down (rather recent) memory lane for me.

So, the analysis:

Graphics: 8. Nice scene and nice photoshop work, although that bagel doesn't quite look right. Otherwise, great job.

Style: 10. This series is made from 100% style, which it achieves without breaking any Newgrounds rules whatsoever! Amazing!

Sound: 10, as always. Great music and great quality.

Violence: 0. There is no violence, real or implied, in this series!

Interactivity: 2. That's a play button right there, yup it is.

Humour: 9. Hitler is an amazing metal guitarist, no doubt.

Overall: 10. Welcome back, and safe travels for the rest of your journey.

AfroUnderscoreStud responds:

Hendrix could learn a thing or two from Hitler.

Great, but it's just a preview.

I voted very low because this was a preview and there was no actual content to it. Don't take that to mean that I didn't like the concept; I'm excited to see the actual film, but a preview of this sort doesn't really offer much to the viewer, as is.

So, the breakdown:

Graphics: 10. Awesome. Your artwork is amazing. Can't wait to see it in action.
Style: 8. This is a preview, so it's hard to guess the animation style, but so far, so good.
Sound: 8. Great choice of music to go with this.
Violence: 0, N/A.
Interactivity: 1. Play button.
Humour: 2. The characters *look* amusing, but who can tell?
Overall: 1, solely because of the complete lack of content and animation here. I do hope you make the full-length, though.

Good luck.

Comick responds:

Too bad you gave it an overall 1, I was warned that Newgrounds is tough. but I apreciate the nice scores in the work itself. Thanks for the review, by the way.

Very creative!

I liked this a lot! Watched it twice 'cause it made me smile. An excellent use of the letters in "avalanche"; the skiing was a good choice of theme that went with the word and the way you used the letters to tell the story was perfect. Nice job, and I hope you got an "A".

5/5

cracker132000 responds:

Haha... thanks. I think I kind of got an A. I got a 92/100. I'm still thinking whether I should fix it up and resubmit it for a better grade though.

Oh, my gosh.

Damn, I hope you decide to improve your graphics, because both episodes 1 and 2 were really funny. The graphics, however, almost ruined this for me. If you did some lip-syncing or a bit more fluid animation, this would be golden, because your plot lines and the continuity between episodes 1 and 2 were really great.

The Speakonia voices added to the humour, but I do think a little background music would have helped. The intro music, however, was too loud and overpowered the talking at the beginning.

Lots of room for improvement, but this is some funny stuff, so I hope you build on it some more.

TheSentinel responds:

Thanks for the tips! I'll try them out, and see how they go. Oh, and trust me, if I could improve on the graphics, I would :) I agree that I should put some more animation into it, though. We'll see what happens.

You are my hero.

Hey, I know you. You're the spatula guy, and maker of really catchy songs that stick in my head for weeks after just one listen. It's about time you came out with something new!

And what a "something" this was! Here's my breakdown of the review:

Graphics: The graphics here are superb. You've got a cool animation style that's definitely unique and entirely your own, and it worked great for this movie. The animation was smooth, the effects and transitions were perfect, and I honestly didn't see a single flaw until the very, very end -- and that was almost unnoticeable anyway (thin line of white on the right side right at the end). So, 10 for graphics.

Style: 10 also. Your animations all have incredible amounts of style, and this was no exception. Beautiful work. I recognised a couple of inside jokes in there, too, which just added to the fun. "Oh my god.... is that an *arm*?" Heh.

Sound: At the risk of sounding repetitive, 10. Everything was timed perfectly, the voice acting was right on (and well done), and the music was, of course, amazing. Good to see the singing dog back in action, too. :)

Violence: 10. Nothing says "violence" like beating a bum with a dismembered arm. Nothing says "violence" like *having* a dismembered arm, actually. Let alone the skull in the wall, the random punching and puking, and so on. Nice amounts of implied violence without being graphic. Perfect.

Interactivity: 7, but it's a movie, so interactivity is expected to be limited. You did have a play, replay and scene select, as well as a link to your DA. That's all that was necessary. I didn't check for Easter Eggs, though.

Humour: 10. Everything you touch becomes comedic genius, I swear. Your offbeat sense of humour is right up my alley.

Overall: 10. I've been a fan of yours since the spatulas, and this is exactly what I'd expect from you. Glad to see you're still around.

Now, go get working on your next movie! :)

(5/5, of course, and you were already in my favourite artists. Duh.)

Funky-Chickin responds:

woah! thanks a bunch, was a big confidence boost to read that! i wasn't gonna post it on NG cos i thought it would just get slated. still time yet! hehe. thanks so much for the awsome words! really, you've made my day!

Hmmm..

Not bad, but it needs to be longer, the audio definitely needs compressing, and the file size is almost 2 megs, which absolutely merits a preloader. Your animation is okay, though, and I think you'll get better as you make more flash.

Good luck!

Oooo... Nepal.

So, did he actually climb the mountain while he was there? That's a big one... might've taken him more than a day to do! At least he got his picture with it.

I have to ask, what is under his arm?! Xylophone meets guitar meets chess set? It's interesting, whatever it is.

Yup.

Graphics: 10. Good Photoshopping, and good choice of items as usual, even if I can't quite tell what that one thing is.

Style: 10. This series and its participants are drowning in style.

Sound: 10. "Girl I wanna hear you sing." Yep, forever embossed into my brain as the ATWI80D theme song. That and Stupid MF. Great songs and good quality.

Violence: 0. There is no violence, explicit or implied, in this flash presentation.

Interactivity: 2. That raht there's a play button if ah ever done seen one... shewt.

Humour: 2. Not so funny, but still impressive. I'm sure the reviews will be funny, though, but since I'm rating the flash, not the reviews, it's a 2.

Overall: 10. Another great episode.

AfroUnderscoreStud responds:

It was a sarangi.

Ha, India.

A musician, too. Wow. He truly is a man of all talents. I'm hoping he's also a great juggler, because he always seems to have his hands full when he's getting his picture taken! I hope he gets to keep all the great stuff he finds in each place he visits... that'll make for quite the souvenir collection when he finally gets home.

So:

Graphics: 10. Excellent choice of location, and some great accessories. Great Photoshopping job, too.

Style: 10. This series is composed of 100% pure style.

Sound: 10. Oh eh oh eh oh! Great songs and good sound quality.

Violence: 0. There is no violence in this flash.

Interactivity: 2. A play button is all this needed.

Humour: 8. I'm always entertained by these, and today's episode was no exception.

Overall: 10. Let's hope the perfection will never end.

AfroUnderscoreStud responds:

Stay tuned for Adolf Hitler: Time Travel

Yet again, perfection.

Awh, Hitler chose a cloudy day to visit Sri Lanka. That's a shame, but at least he got his picture taken in a scenic location today. Seems he's been spending a lot of time padding and drinking lately! At least he's getting some exercise.

Sooooooo, let's talk about this:

Graphics: 9. The cup looked a little flat, but the rest of the photoshopping was great as usual, and the scene was a good fit.

Style: 10. This series reeks of style.

Sound: 10. High quality sound on both the intro and main part of this film. I hope Hitler will be releasing a soundtrack following his journeys.

Violence: 0. There is no violence, real or implied, in this completely unoffensive flash movie. I cannot say that enough times!

Interactivity: 2. That's one hell of a play button.

Humour: 6. Wasn't the funniest in the series, but we all have our cloudy days.

Overall: 10. "Overall" is not necessarily an average. This episode was perfection all over again.

AfroUnderscoreStud responds:

Hitler's the finest sportsman the world has ever seen.

Great idea!

Ha, I really liked this. Great idea and great implementation. The sprites looked good, the jokes were funny, and the sound was right on. This was an easy 5. :)

I hope you'll do more with this idea. Best sprite movie I've seen in a long time.

CaramelAppleClock responds:

Humble thanks, my good sir
