Nice job!

Considering the amount of effort that was put in, I think you did a pretty good job with this one. Funny lines, although it would've been nice if the sound quality had been a little higher. You hit the stereotypes right on the head, though, and I liked the tooth pulling idea... that was pretty amusing. I'd rant on about how you're capable of better graphics, but I think that was the whole point, so I won't.

The inclusion of Link at the end was a good touch. :)

Ying-yong responds:

Thanks for the review. I'm well aware the graphics suck. Sound, however, I'm always afraid I'm gonna go over the 5MB limit.

uhhhhh... not bad?

It's okay, although it has a very strong e-card feel to it -- which is made even worse by the endlessly repeating organ music loop. Since the flash is only 30 seconds long, it might've worked better to use a full music clip instead of the repeating loop.

But, aside from that, it's cute, kinda sweet, and well made, and it's a decent first submission, so I voted to protect it. Good luck with your next flash!

DeSmart1 responds:

Ok thanks man! I will try to fit a better sound next time.

Good flash.

I liked the style of this movie a lot. The art was extremely well drawn! The animation, however, seemed a little choppy and uneven throughout. Look at the running sequence at the beginning, for example: the arms moved too slowly relative to the background (and speed of the running), and the arms kind of went wild at the end of that scene.

The slow-motion effect was okay, although I think it was a little *too* slow, but increasing the frame rate (not necessarily the speed of motion but the number of frames per action) would have made it come across a lot more smoothly. Also, the abrupt ending made me think the flash had just broken; a fade-out would have accomplished the same thing without leaving the viewer hanging quite so much. A preloader and a custom icon also would have been a nice touch.

Little details, I know, but they make a big difference.

This was a good effort, though, and I hope you two will make more, regardless of whether or not you win awards for this one. :)

thanks, we've put alot of effort into drawing the characters, it was very hard learning flash the hard way, i've now come across using movieclips now, and in the next sequal it will get better! :), I didn't know how much seconds per frame so that music and speed was very off, there is a reply button in the corner at the end of the animation but i should have made it more visible my bad, but thanks for the comment i appreciate it, even if i dont make it into the weekly, since i got some fans i will make the next sequal for sure :)

Really funny!

Hah, what a funny collection of mini music videos! Nice graphics on some, less nice on others, but great ideas on pretty much all of them! Some hilarious skits in there... the milkshake one and the very last one were the best. Perfect.

I do wish you'd listed the songs you used in the credits, because there were a couple that I didn't recognize and liked. Good variety musically, anyway. Ha, nice two-second Richard Cheese spot!

I hope you do another one of these. Spend some more time on your graphics and you'll be on the front page in no time!

MrBallistic responds:

oh, well which songs were there? Send me a note.

Heh...

Nice re-enactment of what may well prove to be the beginning of the end of Gibson's career. The audio was splendid, and the graphics were decently drawn. Liked the lip-syncing while he was driving.

I do think you could have added a little more action to the scenes, but this was really funny, and you got it done quick enough that it's still fresh news. Congratulations. =]

i actually started this yesterday when i heard the news and i was like OMGEE! i have to make this :)

Hilarious!

That was really funny. Loved the tinsel beast and the discovery of the Atari 2600 (two-bits of fun!). The intro was really well done, too; it had the look and feel of a professionally-done television cartoon. Well-scripted and funny lines throughout, and -- for the most part -- solid, quality animation.

My biggest problem was with the sound quality. The sound got loud and scratchy at times, and I could hear the *poof* from your breath hitting the microphone. Also, the frames where they grabbed the games seemed cheaply done compared to the rest of the film.

Otherwise, everything was perfect, and if you could fix that sound issue, I'd give you a 10/10 for this movie.

I'm gonna work on making better sound in the next one. THanks for the tips!

LOL, that's fun.

That's hilarious! Great job, and a great way to tell your visitors that the site was under construction. The graphics and animation were smooth and nicely done, and the sound was hilarious, too. No complaints at all... hope to see more from you on Newgrounds soon!

And yes, I'll check out the new site. :)

(I enjoy reading responses just as much as you enjoy reading reviews! :P)

JKR responds:

(Cool then I guess I better respond! =) )
Anyway, glad you enjoyed the cartoon. Yeah, I'll be sure to submit the next Fred cartoon here on Newgrounds too. And thanks for taking the time to leave a review!

YAY!

I've been waiting for this since I saw the preview, and I wasn't disappointed! Great stuff... funny story line, excellent animation and graphics, and overall a great presentation.

The only things I didn't care for were the voice acting by the cave-chick (who seemed uninterested and bored), and the length... it was just too short. Hopefully the next episodes will be longer.

But, other than that, this was a great start and I'd love to see more! Looking forward to episode two.

EpicPopcorn responds:

Thank you for the kind review! The lenght will vary from episodes but I am planning to make them longer!

Heh, another great work.

Another masterpiece from the author of "Imaginary Friend". I expected no less. This was short, but sweet... a great take on a concept that's probably repeated itself in history more times than I care to think. Great artwork, a nice soundtrack that went well with the movie, and simple but effective action.

5/5, but 8/10 because it was a bit short and I think you could have carried the joke just a little further. Otherwise, great job.

Bad-Atom responds:

Glad you liked it. I kept it short because I hate when people stretch an idea or joke too thin.

Nice job!

There you go... that's exactly what I was talking about in my review of your other submission! Great job applying your demonstrative skills to something useful. The directions were easy to follow -- although you could have spent a little more time discussing the creation of the character segments themselves -- and the screenshots were appropriate and useful.

My only suggestion would be to offer a "sound off" button, because that music loop got really annoying toward the end of the tutorial. Otherwise, great work, and I can't wait to see what's next!

(As always, responses are appreciated!)

Catjuggler responds:

Thanks for checking this one out, too. You have been really helpful to me! Oh, and a Sound off button would be easy. A definite future update!
