Nice new concept.

It's about time someone did something different with Snake! I like the 3D perspective here a lot. The polished floor effect you did, the sweet soundtrack, and the slick art combine to make a game that's actually attractive and worth playing for more than three seconds. The green apples are *great*, by the way... haven't seen that in other versions.

For future versions, I'd like to see some more innovation; maybe a changeable music option and extra bonuses or hurdles to get past. A life system and multiple levels with obstacles would be really cool... once the snake reaches 30 links, you go to a new level that's harder and/or faster and/or whatever. But, for now, this is a great step up from the typical Snake.

So, I bestow upon you the gift of a 5, which is something I swore I'd never do for a Snake clone. Congratulations.

(Uh oh. Glitch. I just ate 22 reds and 3 or 4 greens, and now no new reds are showing up. That might be a problem. You still get your score, but you might want to fix that.)

Nice work!

I liked this! Great choices of music, and a good variety. Nice effects, too. (You didn't mention clicking to change the effects in your description, by the way.) Nice big area to play around with, and the effects (for the most part) last long enough that it's possible to create a nice big screen full of fun.

Good job on this.

tnx man!
was an insightful review :)

Meh.

Well, it wasn't bad. I did like the soundtrack, and the graphics were pretty good. The gameplay was a little too simple, and too easy; I just ran all the way east and avoided every single bomb. I'm still avoiding them and racking up points as I type this, actually.

It's a start, but it definitely needs some work... but I think you knew that already, judging by your author remarks.

Looking forward to your next project!

Dont you worry man! My REAL projects are gonna Blow this place Away!!!
Yea there were a few little bugs that we newver managed to sort out and also a few animations we never got to work but overall it still should work well!

Nice work, everyone!

Great job to all who participated! Nice presentation for the online version, too.

A couple of suggestions:

1. Music (as an option) would have been nice to have. But it's also nice to be able to listen to my own music while viewing it, so if you add music, please also add an "off" switch.

2. Once you click Rog's PSA pop-up on his page, you can't make it go away without leaving his screen. It'd be cool to have a close button so viewers could go back to the original. Little detail, though.

Otherwise, this was awesome. Great diversity of artwork and a great idea. 5/5.

Decent game, couple of problems.

This was pretty fun to play. I liked the concept of it a lot, and the design was simple and appealing. I did find the feel of the controls to be a little hard to get used to. Also, the song got really obnoxious after a bit. A little variety there would have helped. Some extra sounds would've been cool, too.

A reset button to start the level (or the game) over would have been helpful, too.

Still, it's decent, and it's kept me entertained for a bit, so that's nice. I just think it needs a few extra features to help it along some.

(Responses are appreciated and encouraged.)

TheKGB responds:

Reviews are appreciated and encouraged too, thank you. I wanted to keep the filesize down on this one, so only two tunes. This was an experiment to see what I could do in a co-op platforming game. There will be better versions later on, with a lot more variety, since I had a bunch of concepts for this that weren't put in.

Nice work.

It's a great little game. I like the graphics and the gameplay is simple but entertaining. I did have a couple of ideas for the next version, though:

1. The game went from being impossibly easy to extremely difficult almost immediately. There wasn't a point at all where a bonus was obtainable, because in the beginning the rows were too far apart, and by the time the rows got close enough together to get a bonus, they were descending too quickly to get more than three in a shot.

2. The pieces weren't that sensitive; I had to roll over some twice for them to pick up that I'd selected them, even when I was moving slowly.

3. Little sound effects, other than the music, would make this more fun.

Otherwise, this is great, and I'm glad to see you're still working on it!

LuckyLollipopLad responds:

Glad you liked it.

1) The bonus is obtainable through most of the game.

At the start, you should have no problem collecting 6 'X's (just after the vertical lines, then wait for them to come again).

Later on, yeah. You can't get a bonus on every set. You aren't really meant to though.

I may have pitched the difficulty a tad too high. May be right.

2) You're right. I didn't put in the interpolation I said I would.

3) LJ Coffee has agreed to try and make some sfx. When they're done, they'll go in. There's no way I could do the bgm justice myself.

Thanks for the smashing review!

It would have been really useful to hear where you got to (both pts and level) as it'd help me realise by what point you feel that 'jump' occurs.

Actually, the speed hardly increases until you get to level 12-x. Thinking about it, the main problem is probably the slow start. I'd like to experiment with maybe having it far faster, then making it actually slow down intentionally as the lines get denser.

Good to know there are folk keen on the new updates of this.

I actually just did it all today as I like to be able to get stuck in.

Thanks again for the awesome review!

Stay funky,

LOL!

Nice job! You get 10 style points for having a sense of humour about others' opinions of your work and being willing to take their criticism of it and make something worthwhile out of it. The gameplay was suprisingly good on this, too; smooth animation and a gradually increasing difficulty level that actually made sense. Great song, too.

Your loading screen also looked good, by the way.

I'm impressed, and I hope you keep making flash.

loser2013 responds:

i loved your review, thanks a lot!

nice start...

You're right, the world does need this. I like the way you laid out the phrases in sections. Also the buttons look good and they're easy to read. My main problem with this was that the sound was way too quiet, even with my volume cranked up pretty high. Also, there weren't quite enough options; I can say hello and goodbye pretty well with it, but I can't actually start any kind of conversation or, oh, say, mess with the pizza dude with it. It needs a few more choices.

It's a good start, though, and I hope you add to it and kick the volume up a bit.

Nice work!

I really enjoyed this! The gameplay and graphics are smooth, and I really liked the whole "follow the mouse" style of it. I do wish you'd added some more music, or maybe even an option to listen to several different background tracks, but otherwise, this was a really cool game.

I'll add it to my favourites and come back and try to beat it later on. :)

Komix responds:

Thanks man!

Well, it is always more we coudl do. but sometiems you get to a poitn where it is simply time to submit it somewhere.
